Sail On Inn has been in operation since 1941, when the Albert Ramirez family purchased and remodeled the historic Franklin Corey Mansion. We are proud that Sail On Inn has always been a family-owned business.

The original owners, Albert and Eliza Ramirez, retired in 1972, and the business was taken over by daughters Margarita Black and Linda Velasquez and their husbands Tom and Marco. Although Margarita and Linda still have a hand in management, now Sail On Inn is now expertly handled by your current hosts, grandson Colin Black and his lovely wife Brittany, who live on the property along with their children, teenagers Ivy and Evan. You’ll often see various members of the family engaged in the kitchen or on the grounds of the Inn.

We are proud that the Sail On Inn has always been a family-owned business. As well as employing several of the extended original Ramirez family, Sail On Inn provides three full-time jobs and nine part-time jobs for residents of Apalachicola, Florida. We use local foods and services whenever possible. We are proud to contribute to our local community in every way.
